For BGP Members
Print Day in May is an annual, global celebration of printmaking taking place on the first Saturday in May and is open to all. On that day, tens of thousands of printmakers around the world make prints and share their experiences with others.
Printmakers celebrate Print Day in May in print shops, studios, kitchens, on beaches, and on sidewalks all over the world. For 24 hours, as the day unfolds around the globe, participants in over 80 countries join in this powerful celebration of creativity.
Delve into the NERAM collections to discover a variety of prints. Using BGP’s expertise, knowledge and insight into different techniques, this exhibition will reveal the intricacies, skill, and creativity inherent with this traditional genre.
A wayzgoose (or wayz-goose, waygoose or wayzegoose) was at one time an entertainment given by a master printer to his workmen each year on or about St Bartholomew's Day (24 August). It marked the traditional end of summer and the start of the season of working by candlelight. Later, the word came to refer to an annual outing and dinner for the staff of a printing works or the printers on a newspaper.
A 2-day masterclass and workshop to embrace the versatility and expressiveness of the relief process. With examples and discussions, I will take you through a journey of drawing for the block, image creation, tools and the mark, paper, registration and printing techniques for hand or the press. This masterclass and workshop will “fine tune” for the experienced, troubleshoot some questions and inspire those wishing to venture into the relief process.
Join us as we celebrate the international Print Day in May event, and Museum of Printing’s 21st birthday.

Dry point etching is a wonderfully direct medium in which marks are made straight onto the plate, no acid required! We will use metal and perspex plates and experiment with mark-making and the addition of colour. No experience necessary.
Aluminium etching with copper sulphate is all about creating beautiful tonal contrasts as well as line.
No experience is necessary for this workshop as you will be guided all the way. Printmakers who have worked with acids and aquatints will especially appreciate the simplicity of this method.
Floor talks and poetry readings held by the printmakers at 2pm Saturday 14th.
It’s opening night! Join us at 6pm for the opening of Between the Lines: Black Gully Printmakers inspired by Judith Wright at 6pm Friday 13th December at Sauer Memorial Hall in Wollomombi, NSW and celebrate with the Black Gully Printmakers community.
Black Gully Printmakers have been inspired by Judith Wright and this exhibition will feature a variety of responses to her writing and the landscapes and causes she held so dear. Wright was a passionate environmentalist, poet, Aboriginal Land Rights activist and novelist, and the works being exhibited will bring the artists' reactions to her words to a contemporary audience.Join us for the opening of this exhibition at 6pm Friday 13th December at Sauer Memorial Hall in Wollomombi, NSW and celebrate with the Black Gully Printmakers community.
Every year Armidale folk gather at Black Gully (behind NERAM) to celebrate community, music and biodiversity.

Collagraphs are printing plates where materials have been applied to the substrate or where the substrate has been incised or cut away. These textures hold the ink for intaglio and limited relief printing. Collagraphs are an economical and non-etchant technique that can produce exciting and ethereal results.
